Wrigleyville has become a mecca for some of the best places to eat. The opening of Gallagher Way and Hotel Zachary has allowed several eateries to establish themselves across from Wrigley Field. It’s a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal before or after a game or to explore during the off-season. You’re missing out if you haven’t yet discovered the Wrigleyville food scene. Many venues are family-friendly and offer promotions for kids.
Please note that many restaurants in Chicago charge a hospitality fee (usually 3-5%) to offset their operational costs. However, you can request to have this removed from your bill.
Coalfire Pizza – 3707 N Southport Ave.
You’ll need to walk a few blocks for this, but some of the best pizza in Wrigleyville makes it worthwhile! The most popular pizzas are Pepperoni & Whipped Ricotta, Lasagna, and Pistachio! Yum! All pizzas are cooked to perfection in a coal oven. Stop by Tuesday through Thursday for happy hour pizza from 4-6 pm, just $16 for any pizza (limited to one per table).
Rizzo’s Bar & Inn – 3658 N Clark St.
The Rizzo family has been part of Chicago since 1946, and the restaurant honors Wrigleyville’s rich history. If you want to celebrate the legacy of Wrigley Field and its surrounding community, Rizzo’s Bar & Inn is the ideal spot. The space includes a patio with a retractable roof and heated floors, three full-service bars, twenty-eight LED TVs, and a thirteen-foot LED screen! Rizzo’s happy hour takes place on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 7 p.m., featuring special food and drink offers. Consider joining the VIP club for exclusive deals and specials.
Output Lounge – 1758 W. Grand
The Output Lounge is home to what was once known as WHISK, the Ron Swanson-themed restaurant. They offer daily lunch, drink, and food specials. This sports bar is famous for having the best exotic and hot wings in Chicago.
Lucky Strike Social at Wrigleyville – 1027 W Addison St.
Lucky Strike Social is a bowling alley and restaurant. They offer bowling, games, live music, and, most importantly, food. It’s family-friendly, and children are welcome before 9 p.m. With menu items like Korean BBQ Beef Tacos, Smokin’ Gouda Mac & Cheese Bites, and Knob Creek Bourbon BBQ Salmon, I’m excited to check them out soon! They have specials and promotions every day of the week.
Mordecai – 3632 N Clark St.
Wrigleyville’s whiskey bar and grill, Mordecai, is in the same building as the Zachary Hotel – just across the street from Wrigley Field. They open three hours before games and offer upstairs patio seating with great views of Wrigley Field. Reservations are recommended. Happy hour drinks and snacks are available on non-game days from 5 to 7 p.m.
Brickhouse Tavern – 3647 N Clark
Named after the late Cubs broadcaster Jack Brickhouse, the Brickhouse Tavern is a trendy sports pub next to Gallagher Way. It features four expansive bars, two outdoor terraces, and views of Wrigley Field and the Chicago skyline. Patio seating is available during the warmer months, and games are always on. This sports bar spans four levels, with floor-to-ceiling garage windows. The menu focuses on sports pub fare, including unique items like a waffle cone filled with buffalo chicken and lamb chops served on a lollipop.
Swift Tavern – 3600 N Clark St.
No, it’s not a Taylor Swift-themed restaurant. Swift Tavern is another restaurant across Gallagher Way within the Hotel Zachary building. It’s Chicago’s place for steak, oysters, and more. Families love that kids eat for free from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with every adult entrée. Happy Hour bites and drinks are also available.w
Smoke Daddy – 3636 N Clark St.
Looking for some BBQ? Smoke Daddy is a place I’ve personally visited; not only is the food great, but the views are pretty amazing as well! This BBQ joint is located below Hotel Zachary. You can grab a seat by the window facing Wrigley Field, and on warm days, they’ll have the windows open. Live music is offered, and they have weekday specials. Kids eat free every day until 6:30 p.m.
Wrigleyville Dog – 3737 N Clark St.
For after-game snacks, visit this dive! Wrigleyville Dogs is a fast-food counter offering Chicago dogs, Italian sausages, sandwiches, gyros, sides, and more. They also feature a drive-thru (rare in Wrigleyville) and patio seating.
