It’s baseball season! That means Chicago’s Wrigleyville will be buzzing with Chicago Cubs fans. If you have not heard of the Hotel Zachary, located just across the street from Wrigley Field, you’re missing out. I had a chance to stay at the Hotel Zachary when it first opened in 2018.

A hotel in Wrigleyville

When Hotel Zachary opened up for reservations, I marked the date on the calendar because I needed to make reservations on a specific game night.  Hotel Zachary is a popular place, especially during a home game, so planning your stay in advance is essential for a game night.

The views from Zachary Hotel were not short of amazing.  From the room, I could see the field lit up from the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Wrigleyville.  The euphoria of watching game-goers hustle about after the game was spectacular. I’m telling you, if you are a baseball fan, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

What To Expect

Upon arrival, a valet will park your vehicle (unless you make other parking arrangements), and you’ll enter a small lobby area with only the option of going up (either by stairs or elevator) to the second level.  This is where the “wow” factor comes in. On the second level is a gorgeous reception area adorned with beautiful floors, communal tables, a long white table with a literature library, and a wall painted with the original sketch of Wrigley Field.

A cozy and spacious bar is not far away, featuring a covered patio overlooking Wrigley Field and the marquee. The views here are just as great (if not better) than the rooms.  Even if you are not staying at the hotel, I would make it a point to have drinks and appetizers at The Bar at Hotel Zachary. Make it a priority to sit on the patio during a game day or night!
